Plastic Metal S.p.A., since 1960 a leading Italian Company in the production of injection moulding machines for thermoplastics, is pleased to confirm its presence at the MECSPE 2020 trade show, which will take place in Parma from October 29th to the 31st.
On this occasion, Plastic Metal renews its commitment to present to the domestic market, the technical evolution of its well-established “hybrid” technology, MULTIPOWER. These injection moulding machines guarantee the highest performance with the lowest energy consumption, offering the best solution in terms of efficiency, and versatility.
Plastic Metal will present a complete turn-key system for the production of the top part of a liquor cap, composed of 5 parts, featuring a MULTIPOWER H 160 ton, equipped with an injection unit 1200, based on a rotary piston under accumulators.
The system is part of a package of 5 machines with moulds, previously sold abroad, for the production of liquor caps. Plastic Metal specializes in complete turn-key systems, tailored to customers’ specific manufacturing goals.
MULTIPOWER H has a double toggle clamping system, based on a hybrid technology of hydraulic and electric drives. It was designed to guarantee the high speed and precision typical of electrical movements, with the high reliability and performance of hydraulic systems, to meet even the most sophisticated moulding requirements.
The MULTIPOWER H is available in the 50 to 3200 ton range.
One of the technological innovations of the MULTIPOWER H are its sliding blocks with recirculation ball system on linear guides, supporting the moving platen, that is mechanically released through compensation springs. With such a system, the sliding blocks are not subjected to strong forces from mould or toggle errors, guaranteeing a long life for the block system.
The automatic lubrication of the sliding blocks with grease, instead of oil, contributes to the exceptional cleanliness of the working area.Furthermore, as the tie bars are not affected by friction, lubrication is not required, and maximum cleanliness of the moulding area is guaranteed.
The top-quality of our sliding blocks ensures a drastic reduction of friction, and consequently a higher speed and more precise sliding of the moving platen in the opening/closing movement, resulting in lower energy consumption.
At MECSPE the injection moulding machine will produce an HDPE internal thread cap.
Each moulded cap weighs 2.8 gr., with a cycle time of approximately 8 seconds.
The 16 cavity mould was designed and manufactured by Giurgola Stampi, an Italian Company with a solid technology and know-how.
The automatic injection moulding system will be equipped with a conveyor belt and ancillary equipments provided by the F.lli Virginio S.r.l., of NPM Group, co-exhibitor in the same stand Hall 6 – G56.
